We’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Mechanical Artisan / Welder / Boilermaker who knows their way around machinery, enjoys solving problems, and can jump into action when things go wrong.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and get equipment back up and running with minimal downtime.
- Maintain pumps, motors, conveyors, mixers, piping systems, tanks and other production equipment.
- Conduct routine inspections and identify potential maintenance issues before they become breakdowns.
- Handle welding, fabrication and boilermaking work as required.
- Fabricate and repair stainless steel structures, piping, brackets, guards and equipment components.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication specifications.
- Assist with machinery installations, modifications and production-line improvements.
- Support production teams during breakdowns and emergency repairs.
- Work closely with operations and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Keep maintenance records and job reports up to date.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop and maintenance environment.
RequirementsWhat You’ll Need
- A Trade Test qualification as a Mechanical Artisan, Welder, Boilermaker or related trade.
- 3–5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and welding skills.
- Experience with stainless steel fabrication and food-processing equipment will be advantageous.
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance practices.
- Basic electrical and pneumatic knowledge will be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of workplace health and safety.
- Ability to work comfortably in a busy production environment.
- A valid driver’s licence will be advantageous.
