Top Manufacturing (Steel Products) firm seeks Maintenance Manager Electrical/Electronics.

Lead a technically advanced electrical, electronics and instrumentation maintenance division in a high-voltage, wire manufacturing plant..

What the person must be able to do:

This role is in the Manufacturing (Steel Products) sector. All duties would take place in this context.

• Maintain and troubleshoot light current systems, including PLCs, SCADA (RSView32), HMIs, field instrumentation, and UPS systems
• Maintain and troubleshoot heavy current infrastructure, including HT/LT switchgear, transformers, relays, soft starters, and motor protection systems
• Design and sign off LT and HT reticulation, including layouts, voltage drop calculations, cable sizing, protection coordination, and field distribution
• Oversee instrumentation and process control systems, including closed-loop setups with temperature, pH, and conductivity sensors, nitrogen wiping tech, and boiler safety circuits
• Lead maintenance team for planned shutdowns, corrective repairs, legal compliance (OSHACT, SANS 10142), and ISO 9001 documentation

Key Job Deliverables:

• To ensure plant availability by executing predictive, preventative, and corrective maintenance across electrical, electronic, and instrumentation systems
• To design and sign off compliant HT and LT power distribution systems, including protection design and cable sizing
• To lead and coordinate a multi-skilled maintenance team to deliver high-performance outcomes, ensure legal compliance, and manage plant-wide shutdowns

Qualifications & Background work experience:

• B.Eng / BTech / NDip in Electrical or Electronic Engineering

• HT/LT system maintenance, SCADA-controlled operations, electrical reticulation design in high-voltage manufacturing plants

• Setup of RSView32 SCADA, maintenance of pH and conductivity meters, calibration of temperature sensors in galvanising lines
• Operation of Hawker Siddeley switchgear, transformer selection and protection, fault analysis and relay coordination
• Managing shift teams of artisans and foremen, scheduling shutdowns, overseeing repairs, driving uptime and performance
• Advantageous: Wireman's license (Yellow - 3-phase installation)

Salary: Market Related. In the Range of R1,400K to R1,650K per annum. Highly exceptional more senior candidates may be considered.
