Maintenance Fitter

About the position

Our Client, in the FMCG / Wheat industry, is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join their team as Maintenance Fitter, based in Bellville, Cape Town.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be willing to work on rotating shifts and public holidays
• Qualified Fitter
• Minimum 3 years' experience after qualification
• Valid South African driver's license
• Own reliable transport
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, pneumatics, gear boxes, couplings etc.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues
• Good understanding of safety regulations and procedures
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Computer literate
• Reside in Northern Suburbs of Cape Town
• Must be able to work independently
• Must be a team player
• Provide a police clearance certificate
• Provide medical certificate

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays
• Focusing on preventative maintenance and breakdowns while on shift
• Coordinate with production to complete maintenance activities during shifts without disrupting production
• Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance assistants to enhance their skills and knowledge
• Maintain maintenance stores and workshop
• Do daily tool checks and tool inspections
• Record all tasks done and spares used on Pragma
