Introduction
Assist both internal and external customers in a professional and friendly manner and ensure machine breakdown is resolved.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform Planned preventative maintenance and condition monitoring
- Perform Repair maintenance and proactive maintenance
- Machine refurbishments and plant improvements
- Adhering to Job cards procedures
- Interpreting drawings, diagrams and specifications and determining suitable materials and sequence of operations.
- Checking fabricated and assembled parts for fit and finish, tolerances and accuracy using precision measuring tools.
- Using machinery and tools to form raw materials into finished products by cutting, pressing, grinding, planning, boring and drilling.
- Performing routine maintenance of machines and tools and diagnosing and repairing faults.
- Use welding techniques and machining processes to replace and repair parts.
- Cutting, threading, bending, and installing pipes and lines for hydraulic components.
- Following safety protocols by good Housekeeping and adhering to all applicable SHE practices
- Servicing, maintaining, and running of high-speed packaging machines, ensuring they are properly set up and functioning efficiently.
- Identifying and resolving mechanical, hydraulic , pneumatic, or other technical issues that may arise during operation.
- Performing scheduled maintenance, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspections, shutdowns, machine overhauling , as well as emergency repairs.
- Assembling packaging machines according to technical specifications and assisting with installation and setup at customer sites.
- Proficiency in the use of OEM manuals and drawing to fault-find and repair machines
- Training operators on machine operation and apprentices' maintenance.
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Minimum N3 Mechanical Fitter / Fitter & Turner
- Trade Tested
- Minimum 5yrs as a trade tested fitter in the FMCG industry
Knowledge & Skills
- Intermediate to advance knowledge of Ms suite (Ms Word, Ms Excel, Ms Power Point)
- Good Communication Skills and basic computer skills
- Inventory management systems
- Interpersonal relationship skills.
- Planning and organizational skills.
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
