About the position
We are seeking an experienced T&I Maintenance Engineer to lead turnaround planning and execution for a major refinery and petrochemical facility in the Middle East. You will oversee full-cycle shutdowns, ensuring safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness while optimizing asset reliability.
Location: Middle East (relocation provided)
Contract Type: Long-term / 12-month renewable contract
Schedule: Full-time rotation (project-based)
Requirements:
- BSc Mechanical Engineering (or related)
- PMP preferred, API/ASME certification a plus
- 12+ in refinery/petrochemical turnaround management
- Proven track record in planning, budgeting, and executing large-scale T&I projects
- Expertise in Prometheus, ROSER, Primavera P6, and SAP
Responsibilities:
- Lead full lifecycle turnaround planning (scope, prep, execution, close-out)
- Manage $5M+ budgets, contractor engagement, and materials procurement
- Schedule and track progress using Prometheus, ROSER, Primavera P6, and SAP
- Facilitate risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
- Conduct post-turnaround reviews, lessons learned, and benchmarking (Solomon)
- Drive maintenance excellence and continuous improvement initiatives
- Align activities across operations, engineering, and contractor teams
- Mentor junior engineers and ensure compliance with API/ASME standards
