About the position
Our client in the Manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced Machine Operator to join their production team in Belgium. This role offers South African candidates the opportunity to gain international exposure while working in a world-class manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating specialised production equipment to ensure efficiency, product quality, and operational excellence. The position reports directly to the Shift Leader.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, set, and adjust milling and/or sawing production lines consisting of multiple integrated machines, including cameras, packaging equipment, and edge-finishing machinery.
- Manage and operate various workstations across milling and sawing-milling production lines to ensure smooth production flow.
- Adjust tongue-and-groove profiles in line with changing product specifications and manufacturing requirements.
- Configure camera systems and aligner/ling settings in response to product specification changes.
- Perform machine changeovers, including switching saw blades and milling tools during product conversions.
- Set up and operate packaging and stacking machinery to ensure efficient product handling and output.
- Operate edge-finishing and lacquering machines while maintaining strict quality standards.
- Monitor production schedules and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal productivity.
- Ensure the correct and timely supply of semi-finished materials to the production line.
- Conduct visual and physical quality inspections of finished products in line with established quality standards.
- Accurately record production deviations, machine downtime, and quality observations.
- Diagnose and respond effectively to production disruptions, applying established procedures to resolve operational issues.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years' experience operating milling, sawing, or similar machinery within a factory or production environment.
- Demonstrated experience working on automated or semi-automated production lines within the Manufacturing sector.
- Strong technical aptitude with the ability to adjust machinery settings, perform equipment changeovers, and troubleshoot operational challenges.
- Experience working with industrial tools and equipment such as overhead cranes, electric lifters, and computer-controlled measurement systems will be advantageous.
- Ability to operate effectively within a structured production environment that emphasises safety, quality control, and operational efficiency.
- Willingness to work shift schedules and adapt to a high-performance manufacturing environment.
Educational Requirements:
- Technical qualification or vocational training in mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial disciplines.
- Relevant technical certifications or training in machinery operation, production systems, or industrial equipment will be advantageous.
