About the position

Open to Kenyan citizens and holders of permanent residency in Kenya.

Leading investment banking firm operating on a pan-African basis and specialising in private capital markets. The firm has offices in Johannesburg, Ebene, Accra, Harare, Kinshasa, and Frankfurt.

Regional partner of IMAP, the world's largest independent M&A partnership. Established in 1973, IMAP has offices in over 50 countries, more than 600 M&A professionals, and completes in excess of 200 transactions annually.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Preparing pitches and presentations for both origination and transaction execution activities;
  • Supporting business development and origination efforts to expand Verdant Capital's presence in Kenya and the broader East African market;
  • Building and maintaining financial models and performing valuations for M&A and capital raising transactions;
  • Preparing transaction marketing materials, including information memoranda and teaser documents;
  • Supporting due diligence processes, including managing virtual data rooms and responding to bidder and investor information requests;
  • Assisting in the preparation of transaction documentation and coordinating with legal and other professional advisors, where required;
  • Engaging with clients, prospective investors, and potential bidders throughout transaction processes;
  • Preparing KYC documentation and conducting background checks as part of client onboarding procedures; and
  • Managing, mentoring, and overseeing the work of junior team members.
  • General requirements: the candidate will:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • At least three years of experience in audit, investing, investment banking, management consulting, or development finance.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities;
  • Be a Kenyan citizen or hold valid permanent residency status in Kenya; and
  • Hold professional qualifications and relevant experience commensurate with the role
