About the position
Our client, a leading player in the LPG sector, is seeking an experienced and safety-focused LPG Plant Operator to join their team on a full-time basis. This is a critical role for the safe and efficient operation of their processing facility.
Requirements:
- National Certificate in Chemical Operations or equivalent; technical or vocational training in mechanical or chemical engineering is preferred.
- Has proven experience as a Plant Operator within the oil and gas industry, with LPG experience being highly advantageous
- Possesses a strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of equipment maintenance
- Is familiar with regulations for handling and storing hazardous materials (LPG).
- Is physically fit for tasks involving lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces
- Has excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
- Is willing to work overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor LPG processing equipment, including compressors, pumps, valves, and pipelines
- Conduct loading and offloading of LPG road tankers
- Perform regular plant inspections, monitor process parameters, and ensure adherence to safety standards (SOPs)
- Manage product transfers between tanks and blend LPG to meet specified vapour pressure requirements
- Conduct quality testing of products as per customer requirements
- Maintain accurate records of operations, maintenance, and safety inspections
- Respond decisively to plant emergencies and participate in safety initiatives
