About the position
Are you a seasoned logistics professional with a strong track record in international trade and cold chain management? A leading organization in the fruit and fresh produce industry is seeking a skilled Logistics Manager to join their team in Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha).

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and optimize end-to-end import and export logistics operations, with a heavy focus on fruit and fresh produce supply chains.
- Manage cold chain logistics, freight forwarding, shipping liner bookings, and port clearance procedures to ensure product quality and timely delivery.
- Ensure compliance with international customs regulations, phytosanitary requirements, trade standards, and export documentation.
- Coordinate effectively with packhouses, cold stores, transporters, shipping lines, and port authorities.
- Monitor operational budgets, negotiate freight rates, and implement cost-saving logistics strategies.
- Lead and mentor the logistics operational team to achieve high performance and efficiency standards.
Key Requirements- Proven Experience: Direct experience in fruit import/export logistics is essential. Candidates with extensive fresh produce (e.g., vegetables) import/export experience will also be considered, but fruit experience remains the top priority.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of cold chain operations, shipping schedules, temperature control management, and port dynamics.
- Compliance & Documentation: Comprehensive knowledge of customs clearing, trade documentation (Bill of Lading, Phytosanitary Certificates, Certificates of Origin), and export regulations.
- Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, dynamic problem-solving, and team leadership capabilities.
Additional Information- Location: Port Elizabeth (Gqeberha).
- Relocation: Relocation assistance will be provided for the right candidate relocating from outside Port Elizabeth.
