About the position
Our client, a leading subcontractor to the construction sector seeks to employ a qualified candidate, who has a strong background in materials management, logistics and managing the company fleet and equipment.
Please note that due to the urgency to place this role, candidates in Cape Town and surrounds will receive preference.
KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION
- You will have completed a qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain or Business Management, coupled with 5+ years experience in the management of a technical/construction material store, procurement, company fleet of vehicles and equipment, as well as logistics to construction sites.
- You will have strong background in effectively managing materials, from sourcing suppliers, implementing loss/risk elimination policies, scheduling orders with the buyer, managing quality of stock and forecasting material requirements from project schedules.
- You will have natural leadership skills in order to manage a diverse team within stores, purchasing, drivers and administration.
- You will have experience in compiling department budgets, monitoring expenses, forecasting of materials and mitigating.
- You will have a background in managing company vehicles, licenses, investigation on accidents, insurances and tracker/mileage monitor software, as well as any maintenance required.
- Proficiency in Advanced Excel and ERP system (SAP, SYSPRO or PASTEL) is essential
- You must have a valid driver’s licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record
