Logistics Freight Estimator
Our client, a leading player in the freight and logistics industry, is seeking a highly experienced and meticulous Logistics Freight Estimator to join their dynamic team. This pivotal role requires a deep understanding of the forwarding environment and expert-level skills in cost estimation across multiple transport modes.
Key Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience within a clearing and forwarding environment.
Minimum 3+ years of dedicated experience in freight estimation.
Proven expertise in developing accurate and competitive estimates for Sea Freight (Ocean Logistics) and Road Logistics.
Comprehensive knowledge of Incoterms, customs procedures, transport regulations, and cost drivers within the logistics supply chain.
Strong analytical skills, with a focus on attention to detail and commercial viability.
Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with operations, sales teams, and clients.
Responsibilities will include:
Preparing detailed and accurate freight cost estimates and quotations for local and international movement of goods via road and sea.
Analyzing client requirements and determining the most cost-effective and efficient routes and transport methods.
Negotiating with carriers, co-loaders, and vendors to secure competitive rates.
Maintaining and updating a comprehensive database of tariffs and pricing structures.
Supporting the sales team with technical expertise during the bid and proposal process.
Compensation:
The salary for this role is negotiable from R30,000 upwards* per month, depending entirely on the candidate's level of experience, proven track record, and relevant qualifications.
