About the position
Logistics Coordinator
My client is looking for an experienced Logistics Coordinator to manage the day-to-day movement of agricultural commodities, ensuring efficient transport execution from supplier through to customer. This role sits at the centre of operations and requires someone who is highly organised, commercially aware, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
Key responsibilities
Coordinate and manage transport operations across suppliers, transporters, and customers
- Negotiate transport rates and ensure compliance with transport contracts and company policies
- Plan weekly loading schedules and manage stock delivery timelines
- Compile and issue load confirmations and track trucks to ensure accurate ETAs
- Proactively communicate shipment status and resolve operational issues as they arise
- Build and maintain strong working relationships at loading and off-loading points
- Capture and manage load data accurately on internal systems
- Allocate supplier and transport invoices to the correct loads
- Collect and manage Proof of Delivery (POD) documentation
- Handle client, supplier, and transporter queries efficiently
- Provide operational support and problem-solving after hours when required
Experience & requirements
Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years' experience in logistics coordination, ideally within agricultural commodities
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Excellent organisational ability with strong attention to detail
- Able to work under pressure, manage multiple loads, and meet tight deadlines
- Customer-focused with a proactive, solution-driven mindset
- Willingness to be available after hours for operational support
