Our client is a well-established financial services provider committed to delivering responsible lending solutions that empower individuals, families and businesses to meet their financial goals. Their products range from short-term finance and structured personal loans to working capital solutions for SMEs.
They are looking for a Loan and Finance Administrator on a 3 months contract basis, who will play a pivotal role in the lending lifecycle - from assessing loan applications and approving credit, to administering loan accounts and managing collections on overdue accounts. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative team where your expertise in lending and customer service will directly contribute to business growth while promoting responsible credit practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and process loan applications, including affordability and creditworthiness assessments.
- Approve or decline loan applications within authorised lending limits and company policies.
- Maintain and administer customer loan accounts, ensuring accurate records and documentation.
- Monitor loan repayments and proactively manage overdue accounts through collections and payment arrangements.
- Conduct FICA and supporting document verification to ensure compliance.
- Liaise with customers regarding loan queries, repayments and account maintenance.
- Prepare reports on loan performance, arrears, collections and account reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, the National Credit Act and responsible lending practices.
Job Experience and Skills Required
Education
- Diploma or Certificate in Finance, Accounting, Credit Management, Business Administration or a related field will be advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience within a lending, banking, financial services or credit provider environment.
- Proven experience assessing and processing loan applications.
- Experience approving loans and conducting affordability or credit assessments.
- Strong collections, recoveries and credit control experience.
- Experience administering loan accounts and maintaining accurate customer records.
Skills
- Knowledge of lending processes and credit risk assessment.
- Understanding of the National Credit Act (NCA) and FICA requirements.
- Strong negotiation and collections skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial or loan management systems.
- High attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
