Salary: R50 000.00 to R70 000 per month depending on Experience
Role Overview
NEC XON is looking for a skilled Linux Engineer with strong automation expertise, particularly in Ansible, to support infrastructure operations and automation initiatives within a large enterprise environment. The role focuses on system administration, automation, and operational support of Linux-based platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Linux server environments (RedHat / CentOS / Ubuntu).
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and playbooks using Ansible.
- Automate system provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes.
- Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve Linux infrastructure and application issues.
- Support patch management, upgrades, and security compliance.
- Work closely with infrastructure and DevOps teams to improve operational efficiency through automation.
- Maintain documentation for automation frameworks and system configurations.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years experience as a Linux Systems Engineer or Administrator.
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- Proven experience with Ansible automation and configuration management.
- Strong scripting skills (Bash, Python advantageous).
- Experience with enterprise infrastructure environments.
Advantageous
- Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or similar Linux certification.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling.
- Experience with container technologies (Docker / Kubernetes).
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS / Azure / hybrid infrastructure).
