About the position
Certified LMI? Step into a high-impact compliance role with modern lifting equipment and a safety-first culture. Is this you? What you'll be doing (and why you'll enjoy it) Where you'll be doing it What you'll need What you'll get How to apply We appreciate that your CV might not be fully up to date. No problem just send us what you have. We do respond to everyone! Just give us a few days to work through your application.
You're a hands-on, detail-driven Lifting Machinery Inspector who takes pride in doing things by the book. Safety and compliance matter to you, but so does practical problem-solving. You're confident working independently on client sites, comfortable engaging with technical teams, and disciplined when it comes to reporting and documentation.
You'll conduct statutory inspections and certification of forklifts and/or MEWPs in line with the OHS Act, Driven Machinery Regulations and relevant SANS standards. This includes identifying mechanical, structural, hydraulic and safety defects, issuing certificates of compliance, and producing clear inspection and defect reports. You'll work closely with workshop and operations teams to align inspections with maintenance schedules, support audit readiness, and ensure equipment is legally fit for hire and safe for use across customer sites.
Our client operates within the lifting equipment hire, service and certification space, supporting industries such as construction, logistics and industrial operations. Known for strong safety standards and operational discipline, the business offers a professional, fast-moving environment where technical expertise is valued and inspectors play a critical role in keeping people and equipment safe.
You'll be a qualified Lifting Machinery Inspector with registered scope for forklifts, MEWPs, or both. You'll bring 2-5 years' relevant inspection experience, solid knowledge of statutory compliance, strong report-writing skills, and a valid driver's licence. Willingness to travel to client sites and manage your own inspection schedule is essential.
A permanent role with a competitive salary based on scope: ±R30k (Forklifts), ±R35k (MEWPs), or R40k-R50k for dual scope. You'll work with a well-maintained fleet, supportive technical teams, and a business that prioritises compliance, safety and professional standards.
