About the position
Level 1/2 Engineer
Location: Client’s campus – Pretoria
Duration: 12 months contract – possibility of extension
Purpose:
- The L1 or L2 Engineer will provide comprehensive operational support and maintenance for our Clients LAN, WAN, Security and UC environment.
- Enterprise and Public Sector experience is key

- Cisco Unified Communication Manager (CUCM)
- Cisco Unified Contact Centre Express (UCCX)
- Cube Gateways
- Attendance Console
- Phones and Headsets
- LAN Switches (Core, Service, Access, and Optics)
- WAN Routers
- Access Points
- ISE
- DNA Centre
- Telephony Management System (TMS)
Pre-requisite skills:
- Strong understanding of routing protocol operation, including both interior and exterior routing protocol operation
- Implementation of Enterprise LAN networks
- Basic understanding of Enterprise routing and wireless connectivity
- Basic understanding of Python scripting"
- Working knowledge of fundamental terms of computer networking, including LANs, WANs, switching, and routing
- Basics of digital interfaces, Public Switched Telephone Networks (PSTNs), and Voice over IP (VoIP)
- Fundamental knowledge of converged voice and data networks and Cisco Unified Communications Manager deployment
- Knowledge of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) concepts as applied to large scale live network deployments
- Strong understanding of enterprise WAN design
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems
- Familiarity with Transport Layer Security (TLS) and IP Security (IPsec)
- Familiarity with the Cisco IOS® Software Command-Line Interface (CLI) for wired and wireless devices
- Familiarity with Cisco AnyConnect® Secure Mobility Client
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows operating systems
