About the position
Our client is seeking their new Head Legal Counsel reporting directly to the CEO.
Requirements:
- LLB degree
- minimum 8 years post articles experience
- experience in commercial law
- drafting + vetting contracts
- experience as in-house counsel / or experience in a corporate commercial team in a law firm
Duties:
- contract drafting
- risk management
- compliance and regulatory management
- manage litigation / engage with external counsel
- compiles and prepares Legal and Compliance reports for Exco and relevant Board Committees
- assist HR Department with Chairing Hearings and/or representing the Company at legal forums
- takes shared responsibility and accountability for good governance practices
