About the position
Our client, a leader in the New Technology sector, is seeking a highly experienced Legal Counsel to provide strategic leadership in managing and protecting a complex Intellectual Property Portfolio. This is a high-impact role requiring a blend of legal depth, commercial acumen, and strategic foresight.
Qualifications & Experience:
- LLB or equivalent
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in Patent and Design Law, General IP Law, Contract Law, and Regulatory Compliance
- Engineering qualification (Electronics/Electrical) is highly advantageous
- Strong knowledge of litigation processes
- Proven ability to think strategically and lead in a technical environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide IP development in technical projects to ensure strategic alignment and robust protection throughout the lifecycle
- Manage the full IP portfolio lifecycle, including registration, maintenance, and enforcement
- Develop and execute offensive and defensive legal strategies to safeguard company interests
- Oversee the contracts portfolio, ensuring legal soundness and alignment with business goals
- Lead regulatory compliance efforts, monitoring the legal landscape and implementing proactive measures
- Draft, review, and approve high-value contracts and company policies
- Manage the legal function and drive departmental effectiveness
