Legal Costs Consultant

What You'll Be Doing:
· Drafting Bills of Costs, Precedent H Budgets, N260s, and Points of Dispute
· Negotiating with third parties and counsel to secure favourable outcomes
· Advising solicitors and fee earners on costs strategy and budget planning
· Attending CCMCs, mediations, and assessments (in-person or remotely)
· Managing deadlines and client updates with precision and professionalism
· Keeping meticulous records and ensuring full CPR and regulatory compliance
· Providing informal mentoring and support to junior team members
What You'll Need to Succeed:
· 3+ years of experience in legal costs, including strong drafting and negotiation skills
· Solid understanding of CPR, relevant case law, and legal costs frameworks
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, formatting, data organisation)
· Sharp attention to detail and a knack for written accuracy
· Strong communication skills and a client-centric mindset
· Ability to handle an independent caseload with confidence and structure
· Experience in Court of Protection, Clinical Negligence, or Group Litigation
· Advocacy or attendance at detailed assessments
