About the position
Overview:
Mogale Solution Providers (MSP), a global management consulting firm based in Randburg, seeks to appoint a highly experienced Legal Advisor/Consultant to support a strategic legal and organisational reform projects within the public sector. The consultant will contribute legal expertise in land restitution, litigation management, and process improvement, and will work collaboratively to modernise legal systems, design governance models, and support AI-readiness. The consultant will also support the review of the client's strategic documents and contribute to the development of a fit-for-purpose legal and organisational structure.
Key Responsibilities:
?? Legal Strategy & Advisory
- Provide legal expertise on land restitution, public law, litigation management, and compliance frameworks.
- Support the development of a robust litigation strategy and legal oversight model for the client.
?? Strategic Document & Structure Review
- Assist in reviewing key strategic documents (e.g. annual performance plans, operational strategies, policy frameworks).
- Contribute to the design of a fit-for-purpose legal and organisational structure, aligned to the client's evolving mandate and priorities.
?? Document and Template Review
- Evaluate and refine existing legal templates, including litigation documents, SLAs, and legal agreements.
- Update and standardise legal and administrative documentation in line with best practice.
?? Business Process & SOP Review
- Assess current business processes and legal workflows; identify gaps and propose improvements.
- Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance legal service delivery.
?? Legal Tech and AI Readiness
- Provide insights on the use of AI and digital tools in legal operations (e.g. document automation, knowledge management).
- Support the identification and integration of digital solutions to streamline litigation tracking and reporting.
?? Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination
- Collaborate with legal teams across national and provincial levels, including external partners and institutions.
- Participate in consultations, interviews, and validation sessions with key stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements:
- LLB and Master's degree in Law, Public Law, Land Governance, or a related field.
- Admitted attorney or advocate with 5-10 years of post-admission experience.
- Proven track record in litigation, land reform, and public sector legal advisory.
- Strong background working with state entities, SOEs, or municipalities.
- Skilled in legal research, analysis, drafting, and stakeholder engagement.
- Willingness to travel across provinces as part of project work.
Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with AI tools and digital transformation in legal settings.
- Experience in legal process mapping, knowledge systems, and operational design.
- Strategic mindset with experience in legal consulting or organisational design.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-pressure, project-driven environment.
Reporting Line:
Reports to the Project Lead Consultant at MSP and collaborates closely with MSP's teams responsible for legal reform, digital transformation, and organisational strategy.
