About the position
Qualifications
- LLB degree from an accredited institution.
- Admission as an Attorney of the High Court.
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in a corporate, commercial, or financial-services legal environment.
- Proven experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex commercial agreements.
- Experience within the insurance industry is highly advantageous, particularly in relation to regulatory frameworks
Technical Competencies
- Strong capability in legal drafting, interpretation of legislation, contract negotiation, and providing practical legal guidance.
- Ability to conduct legal research, assess legal risk, and recommend appropriate strategies.
- Familiarity with governance, compliance, and regulatory requirements applicable to financial services and insurance.
Stakeholder & Communication Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal issues clearly and persuasively.
- Strong stakeholder management and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, executives, and external counsel.
- Ability to provide sound legal advice under pressure and manage competing priorities.
