About the position

To provide an effective and efficient legal advisory and contract management support services to the Department in order to ensure that the interests of the Department are protected against all legal risks and provide professional legal services to the Department
JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Conduct research on relevant legislation applicable, to specific issues, current norms and legislation applicable
  • Conduct research of relevant case law
  • Conduct research on the subject matter of legislation 
  • Draft research on norms and standards  
  • Prepare initial draft for cabinet memoranda 
  • Develop first draft on regulations or legislation administered by the department 
  • Analysis of each matter and coordinate consultation process with relevant company Programme 
  • Draft recommendations on the appropriate course of action to the Minister for Head: Legal’s consideration
  • Assist with the review of pleadings and other court applications /processes and provide on-going instructions to the company legal representatives on the matter


JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 1- 3 years working experience in a legal environment 
  • LLB
