As a result of an awarded major EPCM project in Namibia, the client is seeking a motivated Lead Material Controller to join on site project team on a 6:2 roster

This position will be responsible for the ensuring the smooth flow of materials and components through the project.

About the role

  • Monitor and manage the flow of materials and supplies to meet production and operational needs.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries of materials and components.
  • Maintain accurate records of stock levels, material usage, and order status.
  • Work closely with the production team to forecast material requirements and prevent shortages.
  • Perform regular stock checks and audits to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Manage material storage, organization, and stock rotation to optimize space and minimize waste.
  • Issue purchase orders, track deliveries, and follow up on backorders. Ensure health and safety procedures are followed and help maintain a clean, organized workspace.
About you

  • Relevant Warehousing Qualifications (Preferred)
  • Proficient in using inventory management software, Pronto and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Proven experience in materials control, inventory management, or a similar role (experience in manufacturing or production is a plus).
  • Strong understanding of inventory control principles and practices.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
