About the position
Our clients are seeking an experienced, professional Lead Civil Engineer to join their team.
Purpose:
Lead the design, planning, and technical delivery of civil infrastructure upgrade, replacement, and refurbishment projects, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, quality requirements, and project objectives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Registered Professional Engineer (PrEng) with the relevant professional engineering body.
Advantageous Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in civil engineering (or equivalent).
- Additional training or certifications in one or more of the following:
1. Geotechnical engineering.
2. Traffic engineering.
3. Road and pavement design.
4. Infrastructure design standards.
5. GIS or related mapping technologies.
Experience:
- Minimum: 5 years' experience in civil infrastructure design or specification.
- Preferred: 10+ years' experience leading infrastructure upgrade, replacement, or refurbishment projects within industrial or large-scale infrastructure environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and specification of civil engineering projects.
- Prepare and review engineering drawings, calculations, and technical documentation.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable engineering standards and legislation.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Support project planning, budgeting, and execution.
- Conduct site inspections and provide technical input during construction.
- Identify and manage engineering risks and propose practical solutions.
- Ensure quality, safety, and environmental requirements are incorporated into project delivery.
