Position Title: Laundry Attendant
Reports To: Operations Manager / Laundry Manager

Role Purpose
The Laundry Attendant will oversee the day-to-day operations of the outsourced hotel laundry service, ensuring that all linen, uniforms, and related items are cleaned, processed, and returned to client hotels accurately and on time. The role requires strong stock management, process control, and team leadership skills to maintain efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
- Supervise and coordinate all laundry activities, including washing, drying, ironing, folding, and packing.
- Ensure all hotel clients receive the same number of items returned as were delivered.
- Oversee delivery and collection schedules to ensure on-time service.
- Monitor workflow to maximize efficiency and minimize turnaround time.
Stock & Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate records of stock received from and delivered to each hotel.
- Conduct daily/weekly stock counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Track linen usage, shortages, damages, and losses, and report to management.
- Order laundry chemicals, consumables, and replacement stock as required.
Quality Assurance
- Inspect finished laundry to ensure it meets company and client quality standards.
- Implement hygiene and safety protocols in line with industry best practices.
- Address and resolve customer complaints relating to laundry quality or delivery.
Key Requirements
- Education: Grade 12 / Matric (Hospitality or Operations Management qualification advantageous).
- Experience: 2-3 years in a laundry role (hospitality/industrial laundry experience preferred).
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong stock and inventory management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good leadership and people management skills.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills (English essential, additional languages an advantage).
- Computer literacy (MS Office, basic inventory systems).
Working Conditions
- Based in the company's central laundry facility with regular interaction with hotel clients.
- Based in Centurion
- Physically active role - requires standing, lifting, and moving laundry items.
