About the position
Purpose of this position:
To ensure compliance to service level agreement of the
Various customers of the laboratory while adhering to Quality, Safety, Health and Environment systems. Accountable for laboratory activities.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12/ Standard 10/ N3, NQF Level 4 with Maths and Science (Mandatory)
- Certificate: Chemical Laboratory or equivalent, NQF Level 5 (Recommended)
Experience:
- 2 - 3 years' applicable Operations experience within a Lab environment (Mandatory)
- Computer Literacy
Resposibilities for the position include but not limited to:
- Ensure analytical achievement of Safe Quality Low Cost Tons
- Contribute to the achievement of production targets and objectives through effectively completing laboratory/sample preparation activities, as outlined below:
- Complete sample processing in a timely and accurate manner to meet production requirements
- Identify and assist in resolving any analytical issues
- Preparation of timely and useful analysis reports for production
- Comply with all SHE requirements in the Laboratory
-Laboratory Production
- Ensure all samples are prepared and analysed according to Standard Task Procedures in line with Service Level Agreements.
- Produce deviation reports for samples deviating from agreed service level agreement.
- Co-ordinate work according to sample priority and resource availability.
- Call out standby personnel according to production requirements.
- Effectively use LIMS for data input and work planning.
- Ensure checklists are completed for stock/consumables and instruments and inform relevant personnel in case of deviations.
- Handle customer queries.

- Perform first line maintenance on all laboratory equipment.
