An exciting opportunity has opened for a Bioprocess Engineer to lead a state-of-the-art laboratory focused on anaerobic digestion and biogas optimization. This role blends hands-on lab work with engineering problem-solving, contributing directly to South Africa's energy transition and environmental sustainability.

?? Key Responsibilities (in a nutshell)

• Operate and optimize laboratory-scale anaerobic digesters
• Manage lab operations and ensure compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)
• Analyze data via SCADA systems and produce scientific reports
• Handle feedstock preparation, reactor sampling, and dewatering
• Maintain lab equipment and ensure safety protocols are followed
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scale renewable energy solutions

?? Qualifications & Skills

• Degree in Bioprocess Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or related field
• Knowledge of microbiology, biochemistry, or anaerobic digestion (advantageous)
• Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
• Physically fit and comfortable with manual lab tasks
• Committed to safety and GLP standards
• Weekend availability for reactor feeding duties
• Passionate about sustainability and renewable energy
