Qualifications

• National Diploma or BSc Degree with at least Food Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry or Biochemistry as one of your major subjects.

Knowledge & Experience

• Supervisory/Leadership skills, Assertiveness, Self-motivation, Teamwork
• Food quality & processing control, food production
• Food Safety Systems
• Allergens
• Food legislation

Key Responsibilities

• Raw material and finished product chemical, physical and sensory analyses and evaluations
• Liaison with production staff
• Reading & interpretation of test results
• In-line Product approval and releases
• Operation & Calibration of laboratory equipment
• Assistance in troubleshooting of non-conforming products
• in house Database operations.
• Allergen control though equipment swabs, raw material and final product testing from time to time and as required
• Assistance with Microbiological hand and equipment swabs as required from time to time.
• Participation in Food Safety Management System responsibilities
• Weekly Stock take of laboratory consumables
• Assistance with Daily shift report updating
• All administration related responsibilities.
• Other possible day to day activities as required from time to time
