About the position

Role description
The primary purpose of this role is to supervise and support factory operations, ensuring that all quality assurance (QA) laboratory activities align with Group standards. The role will also provide technical services to the factories, assist with key tasks within the Group Laboratory, and ensure adherence to established Group QA Laboratory policies, procedures, and quality systems.

Role responsibilities:

• Control and coordinate customer complaints and the overall laboratory function.
• Ensure effective resolution of all customer complaints within agreed timelines.
• Implement and maintain relevant laboratory procedures, standards, and quality systems.
• Lead and manage key customer technical improvement projects.
• Ensure correct work methods and procedures are consistently applied across the Group.
• Report accurately and timeously on customer quality-related issues.
• Facilitate and deliver training on relevant topics within the organisation's plants and customer environments.
• Measure and monitor the performance and outputs of the Head Office laboratory function.
• Participate as a member of Six Sigma project teams with designated customers.
• Compile professional reports, analyse data, identify trends, and recommend corrective actions.
  
  Qualifications:
• Matric/Grade 12.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Quality Management or Equivalent.
• Advanced computer skills.
  
  Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
• At least 5 years' experience in a Supervisory level in FMCG environment.
• Knowledge of bottle defects and experience in a glass manufacturing process.
• Technical ability to investigate customer complaints.
• Sound knowledge of process improvement tools.
• Must have basic fracture analysis experience.
