About the position

Red Ember Recruitment is currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a leader in the adhesives industry, for a Lab Assistant based in Montague Gardens. The successful candidate will provide essential support to the R&D team by preparing samples, managing raw material stock, validating measuring equipment, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in the lab.

• Assist the R&D team with day-to-day tasks and experimental activities.
  
• Prepare R&D and customer product samples.
  
• Validate and maintain measuring equipment and calibration records.
  
• Conduct basic routine analysis as required.
  
• Support lab trials and production batch simulations.
  
• Maintain raw material stock and ensure accurate labeling and expiry tracking.
  
• Contribute to quality assurance activities when required.
  
• Uphold safety standards and ensure a clean and organized workspace at all times.
  

Requirements

• Matric (Grade 12)
  
• Technical diploma in chemistry / analytical chemistry/chemical engineering
  
• No prior experience required — suitable for recent graduates
