About the Role
We are looking for an experienced L3 Engineer with strong infrastructure, cloud, networking and cybersecurity capabilities who can operate independently and take ownership of complex technical environments. The successful candidate will have significant experience across enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, networking, security and complex technical migrations. This role requires someone who is comfortable solving advanced technical problems, engaging directly with clients and taking responsibility for projects from planning through to successful implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support complex IT infrastructure and client environments.
- Design, configure and maintain network and security infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot advanced infrastructure, networking and cybersecurity issues.
- Build and migrate server environments.
- Manage hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
- Lead email, server and cloud migration projects.
- Configure and maintain firewalls, switching, VLANs and network redundancy.
- Support advanced virtualisation environments.
- Identify and resolve infrastructure risks and performance issues.
- Manage complex technical escalations through to resolution.
- Support cybersecurity monitoring, incident response and threat management.
- Participate in infrastructure transformation and cloud-migration projects.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers.
- Communicate technical recommendations clearly to clients and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience Requirements
The successful candidate should have practical, hands-on experience across the following areas:
Network & Security Infrastructure
- Firewall setup, configuration and maintenance.
- Network management, monitoring and troubleshooting.
- VLAN configuration and management.
- Redundant switching and resilient network environments.
Server Infrastructure
- Designing and building new server environments.
- Managing and maintaining on-premise server infrastructure.
- Troubleshooting complex server and infrastructure issues.
Email & Cloud Migrations
- Migrating on-premise email environments to cloud-based platforms.
- Managing on-premise email server environments.
- Planning and executing server migrations from on-premise environments to cloud infrastructure.
- Supporting hybrid infrastructure and cloud transition projects.

Candidates should clearly indicate their years of experience in each of the above areas when submitting their CV.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The successful candidate should have:
- Minimum 10 years' relevant professional IT experience.
- At least 5 years' experience in senior, advanced engineering or architectural roles.
- Strong infrastructure, networking, cloud and cybersecurity knowledge.
- Proven experience working with complex client environments.
- The ability to work independently on complex and ambiguous technical problems.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical capabilities.
- Experience taking ownership of technical projects and escalations.
- Strong mentoring and leadership capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical clients and stakeholders.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Strong attention to detail.
- The ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced technical environment.
Additional Requirements
- Must be based in South Africa, with Johannesburg preferred.
- Must be eligible to work in South Africa.
- Own reliable vehicle is essential due to regular client visits.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary, including occasional evenings and weekends.
***Salary - R35,000 - R40,000 CTC (Negotiable, based on skills, experience and in relation to current package)
