About the position

A suitably qualified and relevantly experienced Key Account Manager (Food/FMCG Industry) is required for a well-established Food industry company in Gauteng.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for achieving sales and customer targets for the company in the Gauteng region
  • Understand the requirements of each client's needs and business objectives
  • Develop and plan sales calls for effective customer buy in
  • Demonstration and promotion of products and services to customers
  • Build new and existing client relationships
  • Assist and develop promotional activity to suit market and customer requirements
  • Proactively look for new clients, markets and related opportunities
  • Drive Sales and profits
  • Monitor customer performance - buying, equipment and services
  • Use Industry knowledge and product research to build market share
  • Manage the Sales and Administration related duties effectively
  • Timeous submission of reports
  • Effectively manage and interact with staff involved with the position
  • Successfully upsell the company's products, services and solutions

Requirements:

  • Matric/Grade 12
  • Relevant degree in Food/Food Science/Food Technology is essential
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Key Account Manager in the Food Industry is NON negotiable
  • Previous experience in a factory food based environment would be very beneficial
  • Strong negotiating ability and excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good Computer skills (MS Office)
  • Well-groomed and presentable
  • Energetic and able to deal with pressure
  • Valid Driver's license
  • Own reliable transport
  • Must be able to travel
  • Salary is strictly dependent on relevant Key Account Sales, Food based experience and skill set
  • SA Citizens Only
