Key Accounts manager (Clearing and forwarding)

About the position

Maximise the logistical efficiency and effectiveness of the Port to DC operations, by ensuring seamless coordination of delivery receipt orders (DROs), managing turn-ins, overseeing grounded containers,resolving telex issues, and finalising container costing. The role is responsible for optimising the flow of containers, ensuring timely turnaround, and maintaining accurate records while adhering to scope, time, and cost parameters. Additionally, the role involves fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders and service providers to facilitate the smooth execution of logistics operations within the relevant divisions of the Group.

You are expected to travel to the DC in Hammarsdale

Required:

• Tertiary diploma/ degree in Supply chain management or Freight forwarding and clearing OR Logistics
• 5 years of experience in the following logistics oeprations: Transport, Warehousing, Forwarding and Clearing
• 3 years minimum in working with multiple clients and service providers
• Knowledge of shipping and freight forwarding processes
• Understanding of contract management
• Advanced MS Office Skills, particularly Excel and GOOGLE WORKSPACE
• Ability to prioritise tasks and work efficiently under pressure
• Negotiation Skills (advantageous)
• Proficiency in logistics management software (NAVIS advantageous)
• Retail logistics understanding

You will :

• Manage delivery receipt orders
• Manage Container turn- ins with shipping lines, 3PL transporters and depots
• Manage grounded containers
• Telex issue management
• Liaise with finance team on Final costing of containers
• Vessel and container management at port including upliftment form Port, vessle trackign with Portnet.
• Container management at Depots
• Monitor availbaility and upliftment of Rail containers
• Onsite management
• Container and shift planning and plan execution
