Key Account Manager

About the position

A well-established company in East Rand is seeking an experienced Key Account Manager to join their Mining Sales team.
Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 5 years' experience in mining sales or key account management
• Matric 
• Proven track record in business development within the mining industry
• Strong understanding of mining applications, production methods and equipment
• Experience preparing and managing tenders, proposals and commercial quotations
• Technical knowledge of heavy mining equipment such as excavators, dozers and haul trucks
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
• CRM experience
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel extensively, both locally and internationally

Key responsibilities 

• Develop and implement strategies to grow sales within the mining sector
• Identify, qualify and secure new business opportunities with mines, contractors and industrial clients
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers
• Prepare and submit tenders, proposals and quotations within required deadlines
• Conduct customer visits, presentations and product demonstrations
• Negotiate commercial agreements to maximise profitable sales
• Analyse customer requirements and recommend suitable equipment solutions
• Estimate fleet requirements, production rates and operating costs
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging business opportunities
• Liaise with technical support, workshops and manufacturing teams to ensure customer satisfaction
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts, CRM records and weekly sales reports
• Attend customer meetings, site visits, industry events, conferences and international training
• Follow up on outstanding opportunities and ensure all sales documentation is completed accurately
• Analyse won and lost business to improve future sales performance
