Well established company in JHB North seeks a Key Account Manager who has dealt with Spar at distribution level
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (matric).
- 5 years KAM experience in a key account manager role, within formal food / drug / personal care retail.
- Pick ‘n Pay and Spar experience. SPAR experience a MUST
- Skilled on Microsoft Word, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Good command of the English language and verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of Power BI would be an advantage.
Duties will include
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers to ensure loyalty and reduce competitive risk to the Company.
- Take full ownership of key account profit & loss, ensuring sales growth, margin delivery, and commercial sustainability for the Company.
- Develop and execute annual customer plans aligned to the Company’s brand, marketing, and commercial strategies.
- Act as the primary point of contact between key customers and internal Company teams to resolve issues and drive alignment.
- Manage promotional activity end to end, including deal sheet submissions, order placement, artwork approval, execution, and post-promotion performance reviews.
- Monitor sales, margins, service levels, order processing, cancellations, and credit notes, taking corrective action where required.
- Ensure accurate and timely delivery of the Company’s products and services by managing the full order flow process.
- Gain a thorough understanding of customer needs, objectives, and operating models, conducting business in line with those requirements.
- Expand existing customer relationships by proactively proposing solutions that support their growth objectives and the Company’s strategic goals.
- Oversee third-party sales and merchandising partners to ensure effective in-store execution and compliance with Company standards.
- Maintain and regularly update customer master data, including pricing, barcodes, case packs, and product discontinuations.
- Resolve customer complaints and operational challenges promptly to maintain trust and service excellence.
- Contribute to organic growth and new business development, converting opportunities into long-term partnerships for the Company.
- Prepare and present regular performance reports, forecasts, and customer reviews using key account metrics.
- Conduct store visits to assess execution quality, identify opportunities, and share insights with internal and external stakeholders.
- Use daily and weekly reports and sales tools to monitor and influence sell-through across all key accounts.
