Key Account Manager Foodservice

The Opportunity We are looking for a commercially driven and relationship-focused Key Account Manager to take ownership of a portfolio of national and regional foodservice clients.
This is a high-impact role focused on driving sales growth, managing key customer relationships, and ensuring operational excellence across your accounts.
What You'll Be Doing Sales & Commercial Performance - Drive turnover, margin, and profitability across key accounts
- Achieve and exceed sales targets and budget expectations
- Develop and implement strategic growth plans
- Analyse performance and provide insights to improve results
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales, margin, and forecast reports
Key Account Management - Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships
- Understand client needs and deliver tailored commercial solutions
- Act as the main point of contact between customers and the business
- Resolve issues effectively to maintain service excellence and trust
Operations & Supply Chain - Ensure accurate and timely product delivery
- Manage stock levels, replenishment, and forecasting
- Monitor stock availability and proactively communicate with clients
- Oversee depot and DC stock holding for key accounts
- Handle returns and claims efficiently
Reporting & Market Insights - Track and report on account performance and forecasts
- Analyse competitor activity and market trends
- Identify opportunities to expand product ranges (SKU optimisation)
- Lead pricing, promotions, and listing negotiations
Team Leadership - Lead, support, and develop a team of sales representatives
- Provide regular performance feedback and guidance
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team environment
What We're Looking For - 3 5 years' experience in FMCG Key Account Management
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
- Experience within foodservice or perishable goods (advantageous)
- Ability to manage both strategic and operational aspects of accounts
- Willingness to travel locally
Qualifications - Matric (Grade 12)
- Degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field (required)
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
Additional Information - Permanent role (6-month probation)
- Working hours: 08:00 17:00
