About the position
Job Purpose:
To assist in the supervision and coordination of site activities related to façade, aluminium, and glazing installations, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and according to quality standards.
Key Requirements:
Qualifications
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Relevant qualification in Construction / Building (advantageous)
Experience
- 1–3 years’ experience in construction or façade installation
- Exposure to aluminium, glazing, or façade systems preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Basic understanding of technical drawings
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Problem-solving mindset Key Industry Focus Areas:
- Aluminium frame installation
- Glass handling and installation
- Working at heights (scaffolding, platforms)
- Coordination with multiple subcontractors Working Conditions:
- Site-based role (outdoor and indoor)
- May require travel between sites
- Exposure to construction environments
Key Responsibilities: Site Supervision & Coordination
- Assist the Site Supervisor / Project Manager with daily site operations
- Supervise subcontractors and installation teams on-site
- Ensure work is carried out according to drawings and specifications
- Monitor daily progress and report on site activities
Quality Control
- Check installation quality of aluminium frames, glass panels, and façade systems
- Ensure correct materials and components are used
- Report defects or snags and ensure they are resolved
Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act)
- Enforce use of PPE and safe work practices
- Identify and report hazards on-site
- Assist with toolbox talks and safety briefings
Planning & Logistics
- Assist with planning daily tasks and labour allocation
- Coordinate material deliveries and ensure correct quantities on-site
- Monitor stock usage and report shortages
Documentation & Reporting
- Keep daily site reports and progress updates
- Record attendance of workers and subcontractors
- Assist with maintaining site documentation and safety files
Client & Team Communication
- Liaise with site management, contractors, and internal teams
- Escalate issues or delays to senior supervisors
- Maintain professional communication on-site
