Junior Security Supervisor

About the position

Our Client is looking for a  Junior Security Supervisor to join their team.
Location: Franschhoek

Role Overview:

The central job role is to implement and monitor systems, equipment and procedures that enable Security operations to provide visitors and employees with outstanding security, first aid and emergency services. Securing premises and personnel by patrolling properties, inspecting buildings, overseeing the monitoring of surveillance equipment and access points to ensure the health, safety and security of individual needs and situations.

Main Responsibilities:

• Quality of security, incident and risk investigations
• Efficient service delivery to promote guest satisfaction
• Supervision of Security operations and security teams
• Ensure employees receive ongoing emergency training, including safety drills and evacuations
• Implementation of processes, policies, procedures and standards to regulate the activities of security teams
• Conduct regular risk assessments and ensure preventative initiatives are implemented
• Reduction in incidents involving the loss or damage of guest, company or third-party property
• Strict confidentiality of all guest, visitor, employee and company information
• Personal and professional integrity of the highest standard
• Reduction of safety-related (IOD) and security incidents
• Promote and maintain compliance and awareness of health, safety and security issues
• Identify areas where waste can be reduced to achieve financial savings
• Reduction of hazards and risks
• Teamwork, cross-organizational collaboration and building high-performance teams

Experience and Skills:

• Minimum of 2 years' supervisory experience in security or a similar working environment
• PSIRA registered
• Valid driver's licence
• Firearm competency would be advantageous

Inherent Requirements:

• Matric
• Completion of formal education in security would be beneficial
• Good communication skills
• Critical thinking ability and strong situational awareness, enabling appropriate responses
• Working knowledge of management practices and principles
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
