About the Role
As a Junior Salesforce Developer, you’ll assist with the development, configuration, and maintenance of Salesforce applications across the organisation. You’ll work under the guidance of experienced developers and administrators, supporting projects that connect systems, improve processes, and deliver smarter business solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Salesforce Development & Configuration
- Support the development of Salesforce components using Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning Web Components (LWC).
- Configure standard Salesforce features such as objects, fields, workflows, and validation rules.
- Assist with automating business processes using Flow and other declarative tools.
- Participate in testing, debugging, and deploying new features or enhancements.
Maintenance & Support
- Troubleshoot user issues and system errors within Salesforce.
- Perform regular system maintenance, including data updates and user management.
- Contribute to code reviews and implement feedback from senior developers.
- Document configurations, solutions, and technical processes accurately.
Data & Integration Support
- Support data migration, cleansing, and validation activities.
- Help ensure accuracy and consistency across Salesforce and integrated platforms.
- Assist with connecting Salesforce to other systems and APIs under supervision.
Collaboration & Learning
- Work closely with Administrators, Business Analysts, and Senior Developers to understand business requirements.
- Translate user needs into clear technical tasks and solutions.
- Participate in Agile sprints, team meetings, and planning sessions.
- Proactively pursue Salesforce learning and certification opportunities to grow your skills.
Compliance & Security
- Adhere to company data protection and security policies (POPIA/GDPR).
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive or institutional data.
- Follow coding, documentation, and version control standards.
Skills & Attributes
- Foundational understanding of Salesforce architecture and automation tools.
- Basic knowledge of Apex, SOQL, SOSL, and Lightning App Builder.
- Exposure to Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or Experience Cloud.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn new technologies.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (advantageous).
- Salesforce Platform Developer I certification (preferred or in progress).
- 1–2 years’ experience working with Salesforce (internship or junior role).
- Exposure to APIs, integration tools, or AppExchange apps beneficial.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment is an advantage.
