JUNIOR IT TECHNICIAN

About the position

Our client, a well-established Managed Services Provider (MSP), is looking for a Junior IT Technician to join their technical support team. This is a client-facing role supporting businesses across the Bellville and Paarl regions, providing both onsite and remote technical assistance.

This opportunity is ideal for someone with 1-2 years of IT support experience who enjoys troubleshooting, working directly with users, and developing their technical skills within a supportive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first- and second-line technical support.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and Microsoft 365 issues.
• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals.
• Administer user accounts and permissions.
• Monitor and maintain client IT environments.
• Deploy updates, patches, and system upgrades.
• Maintain accurate ticket notes and technical documentation.
• Escalate complex issues to senior engineers where required.
• Manage IT asset inventories.
• Ensure SLA compliance and excellent customer service.

Minimum Requirements

• Matric with Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy).
• 1-2 years' experience in an IT support or Helpdesk environment.
• Valid driver's licence and own reliable vehicle (essential).
• Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Desired Skills:

• CompTIA A+
• Network+
• Microsoft 365
• MCSE/MCITP
• or similar certifications. IT-related tertiary qualification. Microsoft Windows desktop support. Microsoft 365 administration. Windows Server [Phone Number Removed];). TCP/IP
• DNS
• DHCP networking knowledge. Network cabling and infrastructure support. Experience with RMM tools and ticketing systems.
