The Junior IT Engineer will support our IT infrastructure, assist in implementing new technologies, and ensure the smooth operation of our systems.
Requirements:
- Formal qualification in IT engineering.
- Minimum 2 Years experience.
- Operating Systems: Proficient in Microsoft technologies such as Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office applications, as well as desktop and laptop support.
- Linux Experience will be beneficial.
- Procurement Tools: Familiarity with procurement processes.
- Inventory Management: Basic knowledge of inventory tracking systems.
- Application Support: Ability to provide general support for business applications and work with integration partners.
- Microsoft 365: Understanding of M365 services, including the 365 Admin Center, Microsoft Intune, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and Compliance.
- Telephony Systems: Basic knowledge of PABX management and maintenance.
- VPN Technologies: Experience with OpenVPN or similar VPN management tools.
- Ticketing Systems: Proficiency in using ticket management software (e.g., Jira, ServiceNow, Zendesk).
- Networking Fundamentals: Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN configurations.
- Hardware: Familiarity with computer hardware components and peripheral devices.
- Software Troubleshooting: Experience with common software applications and the ability to troubleshoot software-related issues.
- Security: Awareness of fundamental cybersecurity principles and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Support: Provide first-level technical support to employees, troubleshooting Windows 10/11 desktop and laptop issues to ensure minimal downtime.
- Inventory Management: Utilize inventory tracking tools to manage IT assets effectively.
- Procurement Assistance: Support the procurement process by liaising with vendors and managing the acquisition of necessary hardware and software.
- User Lifecycle Management: Manage onboarding and offboarding processes for new and existing users, ensuring efficient vendor management and escalation.
- Application Support: Provide general support for business applications and collaborate with integration partners to ensure seamless integration and functionality.
- Microsoft Administration: Help manage M365 services including the 365 Admin Centre, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, and Compliance tools.
- Monitoring and reporting: Effective and accurate reporting using existing toolsets such as Jira, Zabbix, Wazuh and Power Bi
- Ticket Management: Handle ticketing systems to track, prioritize, and resolve IT issues efficiently.
- Vendor management: Effective logging, follow up and escalation
- User Management: Experience with onboarding and offboarding processes for IT systems.
