About the position
The Junior Analyst will support the investment and analytics functions through data analysis, financial modelling, research, and reporting. This role is suited to an early-career professional with strong quantitative skills, a solid grounding in financial concepts, and an eagerness to develop hands-on investment and modelling experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Investment & Market Support
- Assist with research and analysis of listed equities, private equity, or other investment opportunities.
- Support monitoring of portfolio performance, benchmarks, and risk metrics.
- Track market trends, macro-economic indicators, and sector developments.
Financial Modelling
- Build, maintain, and update financial models under guidance from senior analysts (e.g. forecasting models, valuation models, scenario and sensitivity analysis).
- Assist with company valuations using methods such as DCF, comparables, and basic transaction analysis.
- Support modelling for investment proposals, internal reviews, and presentations.
Data & Reporting
- Collect, clean, and validate financial and market data from internal and external sources.
- Prepare regular performance, attribution, and analytical reports.
- Support the development and maintenance of dashboards and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI).
Analysis & Insights
- Analyse financial statements, cash flows, and key performance indicators.
- Translate data and model outputs into clear insights and summaries.
- Assist with preparing investment memoranda and client-facing materials.
Process & Documentation
- Maintain documentation of financial models, assumptions, and methodologies.
- Support continuous improvement of analytical tools, templates, and processes.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Investment Management, Accounting, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong Excel skills, including advanced formulas and basic financial modelling.
- Foundational understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis, and valuation concepts.
- Strong analytical ability with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated exposure to financial modelling through coursework, internships, or projects.
- Familiarity with Power BI, SQL, Python, or similar analytical tools.
- Internship or graduate-level experience in finance, investments, or data analysis.
- Progress toward or interest in professional qualifications (e.g. CFA).
