Junior Field Service Technician - JHB

About the position

Our client in the Healthcare Industry is seeking a motivated and technically inclined Junior Field Service Technician to join their team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be provided with the opportunity to grow and develop into a fully qualified Service Technician through practical on-the-job training and exposure.

The role will involve supporting and assisting senior Service Technicians with field service activities, maintenance, installations, troubleshooting, and technical support functions, while progressively undertaking certain responsibilities independently. In addition, the successful candidate will provide support to the Factory operations where required, contributing to the efficient functioning of technical and operational processes.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a willingness to learn, strong technical aptitude, excellent problem-solving capability, and the ability to work effectively within a team-oriented and customer-focused environment.
Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field will be advantageous.
• Basic technical experience with an electrical and/or mechanical engineering background.
• Advanced computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Valid Code 08 driver’s license is essential; EB license will be advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative in a technical support environment.
• Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply technical schematics, diagrams, and manuals.
• Strong customer service orientation with a professional and solutions-driven approach.
• Willingness and availability to work after hours on an ad hoc basis when operationally required.
• Willingness and ability to travel nationally and internationally as required by the business.
