About the position

Junior Draughtsman - Shopfitting Industry - City Deep

Our large client, based in City Deep is currently looking for a multi-skilled Junior Draughtsman, to employ as soon as possible.
MUST COME FROM THE SHOPFITTING INDUSTRY/ BACKGROUND TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION. (NON-NEGOTIABLE)

The Company: A privately owned business, established in 1997. Over the years, innovation and product development has seen the business expand its product offering to include a wide range of retail and POS solutions.

The Position: We're looking for an Junior Draughtsman. The pay range on offer is R10 000.00 to R15 000.00 Basic Per Month + Benefits

Requirements:

  • Completed Grade 12
  • Completed relevant Technical Degree / Diploma - essential
  • Previous working experience as a Draughtsman within Shopfitting Industry
  • 1-2+ Years' experience
  • Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically
  • Committed and Stable person
  • Neat and tidy, well spoken and not shy to be honest
  • Own reliable transport with a valid driver's license
  • South African with a valid South African ID
  • Experience with SolidWorks
  • CAD - able to read CAD drawings (need to assemble onsite)
  • Cabinet making and assembling

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsibilities include full turn-key shopfitting, including shopfronts and fixtures from design to manufacture
  • Programming CNC machines, operating fiber laser machines and doing full manufacturing drawing packs
  • Client liaison and interpreting/processing the design brief
  • Create high quality presentation visuals for approval by client
  • Design of a once off prototype / sample units
  • Produce relevant documentation for production team
  • Engineering Drawings
  • DXF Cutting profiles
  • Packaging Detail etc.
  • Source Fittings, Trimmings and other finishing detail
  • Collaborate with factory staff in order to produce a high quality product within designated time frames
  • Fine tuning design around cost aspects and ease of manufacture
