About the position
The Junior Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing and maintaining various agricultural machinery & equipment as well as motorbikes to ensure optimal performance. The Junior Diesel Mechanic will work on a variety of machinery, including bikes, tractors, sprayers, harvesters, and other specialised agricultural equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Repairs:
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on agricultural equipment and motorbikes.
- Perform scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, filter replacements, and general inspections.
- Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer standards and customer expectations.
Diagnostics & Troubleshooting:
- Use diagnostic tools and software to identify equipment issues.
- Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical faults.
- Test equipment post-repair to ensure it is fully operational.
Workshop Operations:
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all safety protocols and ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained.
- Assist with inventory management, including ordering parts and tracking stock levels.
Customer Service:
- Communicate with customers to understand equipment issues and provide updates on repairs.
- Offer technical advice and recommendations for equipment care and maintenance.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through professional service.
Record-Keeping:
- Complete detailed service reports and documentation for each job.
- Maintain accurate records of parts used and labour hours for billing purposes.
- Provide feedback on recurring issues to improve service processes.
