Junior Designer (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) (JHB)

About the position

ENVIRONMENT:

THE talents of a Junior Designer who is passionate about visual storytelling, eager to develop their skills, and excited to work on a variety of design projects is sought to join the Design team of a provider of cutting-edge Financial Tools in Joburg. This is a hands-on role that requires strategic thinking, analytical acumen, and a passion for data-driven marketing in a B2B software-as-a-service (SaaS) environment. You will also require a Degree/Diploma in Graphic Design/Visual Communication or a similar field (or equivalent work experience), have proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, PowerPoint, Canva and understand Typography, Colour Theory & Composition. A portfolio showcasing your design work, especially the utilisation of Adobe tools, will be expected.

DUTIES:

• Assist in the creation of graphics and layouts for digital and print materials, including social media, presentations, advertisements, and branding assets.
• Support Senior Designers with project tasks and follow established design guidelines.
• Edit and retouch images as needed for marketing and sales collateral.
• Contribute creative ideas during team brainstorming sessions.
• Prepare final art files for production, ensuring all deliverables are high-quality and on-brand.
• Participate in design reviews and respond to feedback constructively.

REQUIREMENTS:

Qualifications –

• Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Experience/Skills –

• Proficient in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator for image editing, illustration, and vector design.
• Working knowledge of Adobe InDesign for layouts and print design.
• Understanding of Typography, Colour Theory, and Composition.
• Comfortable preparing files for web and print.
• Comfortable with PowerPoint design.
• Canva design.
• Portfolio showcasing your design work, especially using Adobe tools.

Advantageous –

• Familiarity with basic animation or video tools (e.g., Adobe After Effects or Adobe Premiere Pro) is a plus.
