Junior Construction Manager

About the position

Seeking a Junior Construction Manager with a strong background in finishing. The ideal candidate must have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of successfully bringing construction projects from start to completion.
Responsibilities:

• Supervision and overseeing construction workers and sub-contractors on site, assigning tasks, and ensuring efficient workflow.
• Able to read and interpret plans, blueprints, construction drawings and specifications.
• Monitor project progress and report to senior project managers.
• Maintaining construction schedules, allocating resources, and managing timelines.
• Project planning, ensuring the timeously availability of materials, equipment, and personnel needed for the project.
• Resolve problems that arise during construction.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Oversee all work on construction projects.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure timely delivery and installation of finishing materials.
• Inspect finished work to ensure quality and compliance with project specifications.
• Manage the team on site, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Inspecting work, ensuring adherence to quality standards, and recommending improvements.
• Addressing any issues that arise on the construction site, finding solutions, and resolving them effectively.
• Deep understanding of construction processes, materials, and safety regulations.
• Ability to analyse situations, identify problems, and make sound decisions.
• Effectively managing schedules, resources, and deadlines.
• Communicate regularly with the project manager.
• Keep accurate records of work completed, materials used, and any issues encountered during the finishing phase.
• Enforce safety regulations, quality standards and best practices on the construction site.
• Ability to address and resolve conflicts in a constructive manner.

Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience working in construction, with a focus on finishing work.
- Proven experience overseeing projects from start to finish.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, techniques and best practices.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations.
- Valid driver's license and own reliable transportation.
- Availability to work on a contract basis for periods ranging from 4 to 12 months
