About the position
Our cient is looking for a meticulous and professional Junior Cashbook Clerk to join their finance team. If you thrive in structured environments, have hands-on experience in retail and FMCG, and can confidently manage a high volume of transactional work, we want to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cash-up reconciliations across retail stores
- Reconcile POS sales data with supporting documentation
- Manage credit card, ATM, and cash-on-hand reconciliations
- Verify bank deposits against POS records
- Process sales journals in IQ Retail
- Resolve discrepancies with store teams
- Maintain accurate sales records and manage store floats
- Support audits and assist with financial reporting
Desired Experience & Qualification
- Matric essential; accounting/bookkeeping diploma preferred
- Experience in retail and FMCG environments is essential
- Ability to handle high volumes of work with speed and accuracy
- 2 years' experience in a similar cashbook role
- Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- High attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Team player with a proactive mindset
