Purpose of the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Buyer to support our procurement team in sourcing, ordering, and managing inventory. This entry-level position is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in supply chain or procurement. You’ll assist with supplier communication, purchase order creation, data entry, and inventory coordination to ensure efficient and cost-effective purchasing.

Min Qualifications:
Diploma or Tertiary
- 2 -3 years of relevant experience in a purchasing or procurement role
- Basic understanding of supply chain or inventory management principles
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office and pastel
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Team player with a proactive and problem-solving mindset
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous internship or experience in a procurement or buying role
- Experience working with in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in sourcing suppliers and obtaining quotations
- Issue and track purchase orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery of goods
- Monitor inventory levels and notify the team of potential shortages or overstock
- Communicate with suppliers to confirm order status, lead times, and resolve any discrepancies
- Maintain accurate procurement records and update the internal purchasing system
- Support the Senior Buyer with data analysis and cost comparisons
- Help evaluate supplier performance (quality, cost, delivery, responsiveness)
- Coordinate with internal departments for order fulfilment
- Follow up on backorders, returns, and invoice reconciliation
- Stay informed on market trends and pricing changes related to product categories
