Junior Buyer

About the position

A well-established manufacturing and distribution company requires the above to assist the Senior Buyer with all administration and procurement functions within the food and beverage raw material ingredient manufacturing industry.
Minimum requirements for the role:

•  A matric is essential for this role.
• A tertiary qualification is preferred but not essential.
• Previous experience having worked in a junior buyer role within the food and beverage raw material ingredient industry is preferred but not essential as the company will consider training a graduate into this role who has no work experience.
• CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) would be an advantage.
• Syspro knowledge is preferred but is not essential.
• Previous experience and knowledge with regards to the importing of products is preferred.
• Competence in the use of Microsoft Office suite is essential.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Assisting the senior buyer with all administration and procurement functions within the food and beverage raw material ingredient manufacturing industry.
• Buying, ordering, planning and handling stock replenishment in line with MRP requirements
• Researching and evaluating potential suppliers, considering factors such as quality, cost, and delivery times. ?
• Negotiating contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to ensure favourable terms and cost savings. ?
• Monitoring inventory levels and forecast demand to optimise purchasing decisions.
• Working closely with the sales team to ensure that customer sales forecasts are projected correctly.

Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
